Abridgment of regulation about fishing SALMON and common inland fish in watercourses in Finnmark
from February 19th 2010 valid for Gamvik JFF

 

With warrant in law of salmon fish and inland fish w.m of May 15th 1992 nr 47 §§ 15, 33, 34, delegated from The government  of environment to the County Governor of Finnmark, February 24th and May 13th  1993, regulation about opening fishing for salmon, sea char and sea trout of June20th 2003 nr 736 § 2 and regulation of catch report obligation and tools permitted to use when fishing for salmon fish of  February 25th 2003 nr 256 § 2 : The County Governor of Finnmark have decided, May 9th 2008, following determination of fishing for salmon fish and inland fish in watercourses in Finnmark county.

§ 1. Valid areas

The regulations are valid in watercourses included main river, tributaries and lakes as far as there appears salmon fish.

§ 2. Definitions

With salmon fish means salmon, sea char and sea trout.

With inland fish means all other fish than salmon fish.

With salmon means all salmon which not with certainty can be designated to escaped breeding salmon or transpacific salmon from external characteristic

§ 3. Catch report and catch statistics

Everyone whom been fishing salmon fish must deliver catch report every year for use in public statistcs. For fishing in watercourses this duty is prescribed to the owner.
Everyone who rent fishing rights in watercourses or buying fishing licence have the obligation of giving information about the catch to the owner.

Report must be given in form on fishing licence and must contain the name of the angler,  type- and number of devices, the catch divided on each device, the catch divided in weight groups, weight of the catch and numbers for salmon, sea char, sea trout, breeding salmon and other kind of salmon divided weekly. Released fish must be reported the same way, but with the note that it's released.

§ 4. Time of fishing

A

·                   Salmon from June 1st. 12am to August 31st.12pm.
·
         Sea char from June 24th. 12am to July 31st. 12pm.
·
         Sea trout from June 1st. 12am to August 31st. 12pm.

B    Langfjord river, Sandfjord river and Risfjord river

·                  Salmon from June 24th.12am to August 17th.12pm.

         Sea char from June 24th. 12am to July 31st. 12pm.
 

          Sea trout from June 24th.12am to August 31st.12pm.

C    Fut river

·                    Salmon from July 1st 12am to August 10th. 12pm.
           From August 1st must All female salmon be
handled carefully and  immediately released back to the river.

          Sea char from July 1st 12am to July 31st. 12pm.

           Sea trout from July 1st 12am to August 10th. 12pm.

D    Mehamn river

·                   Salmon: Prohibitted
           Sea char: Prohibitted

         Sea trout from July 1st 12am to August 31st. 12pm.

E

·        No fishing.


§ 5. Opening of fishing

Salmon fish and inland fish are preserved from Sunday 6pm to Monday 6pm  in watercourses with time of fishing as in § 4 C .

 

 

§ 6. Releasing

Winter salmon, salmon less than 35 cm, sea trout and sea char less than 30 cm must be handled carefully and  immediately released back to the river.

If catching salmon fish outside the permitted time of fishing for the species( § 4) must the fish be handled carefully and  immediately released back to the river.

§ 7. Tools and remedy

Permitted tools: fly, worm (without sinking remedy), spoon, spinner og wobbler. Fishing with shrimps are prohibitted.

When fishing with fly or worm, only one suspension is permitted, and only ferry or flyline can amount to weight when casting.

Special supplements:

·         In watercourses with times of fishing as in § 4 A: From August 1st only fly fishing permitted.

·         In watercourses with times of fishing as in § 4 B og C: From July 11th angleworm and fly only (sinkin lines and similar are prohibited).. From August 1st only fly fishing permitted.

In lakes all permitted tools can be used all season.

It is forbidden to fish in ways that make the fish been hooked. Do not leave tools while fishing.

§ 8. Zones with tool- or fishing interdiction

Wher it is opened for fishing salmon fish as in § 5 it is prohibitted to:

·         fish with net or otter in lakes

·         fishing from all parts of bridges, pipes and/or roads

·         fihing in salmon ladders and/or blasted fish chutes

·         fishing on both sides of the river from 50 metres below to 50 metres above salmon ladders or blasted fish chutes (if not other zones settled in § 5)

§ 9. Marking of preserved zones

Limits of preserved zones as in § 5 og § 8 shall be marked. Determination of prohibitation in preserved zones are in force even if signs are missing.

§ 10. Fishing for inland fish with fishing rod and  hand lace

In watercourses and parts of watercourses which contains salmon fish, same rules are practiced about tools, time of fishing and preserved zones for inland fish as for salmon fish, jfr § 4 and § 5.

In  lakes are fishing on the ice for inland fish allowed more than 200 metres from in- and outlet with fishing rod and hand lace from January 1st to May 4th, with exceptions as in § 5. When fishing on the ice in lakes permitted tools are worms, maggot and octopus as bait. Fishing with lines are not permitted. If catching salmon it must be handled carefully and  immediately released back to the lake.

§ 11. Fishing for inland fish with net

§ 12. Disinfection of fishing equipment
Persons who want to buy fishing licence, have to perform following demands about disinfection:
Fishing equipment and other potential infected objects which have been used outside the county of Finnmark, must be disinfected before it can be used in the county.
Fishing equipment and other potential infected objects which have been used in watercourses where it's verified or suspected infectious disease must be disinfected.
Certificate for valid disinfection of  fishing equipment, must be shown when buying fishing licence, carrying when fishing and shown to fishing authority on enquiry.
Appart from this, allways practice to have dry fishing equipment and other potential infected objects before start fishing in other watercourses.

§ 13. Closing fishing

Owner and/or the County Governor can close fishing in whole or parts of watercourses when the amount of salmon fish from the sea to the watercourse is very low or when other circumstances make closing required.

§ 14. Exemption
The County Governor can give exemptions from all determinations in this regulation.

§ 15. Inspection and attendance

Owner and unions must give the County Governor access to all information wich concerns the operation of the watercourse.
The County Governor shall supervise that determinations in the regulation are followed.
